Milna

White Milna, sculptured of the Brač stone, blinded by sea and protected by cove is a natural insular port and one of the most harmonious baroque coastal villages. It is adorned by regular small streets, churches and castles. It has developed in 16th century around the family Cernić Castle who also built the small church of St. Mary. Milna cove is divided into Žalo and Pantera. Today in this place is situated a marina, refuge for ships and yachtsmen as once was the refuge for the Emperor Diocletian ships whilst he was building the palace in Split. Once Milna was a famous shipyard of sailing ships whilst the prototype of unique bracera was made in the Milna shipyard.
