Bol
Situated on the southern part of the island, Bol is the oldest littoral village and a famous summer resort. Historically, this tourist pearl is well known still in Neolithic Period while was inhabited by pre-Indo-European people and later by Roman who built here villae rusticae. Far known beach Zlatni rat is one of the biggest and most beautiful natural attractions of Bol and the whole Adriatic. It extends along for half a kilometre into the sea, like a sandy point covered by a dense pine wood. Stari Bol was village of wine-growers, fishermen and seamen whilst today is a tourist place with hotel complexes, private houses and apartments. Bol is a preferable tourist destination thanks to its restaurants with original Dalmatian recipes, diving clubs, sailing and tennis clubs, fitness centres, village port favourite for yachtsmen, etc.
