Pučišća

Besides Pučišća is the biggest village of the island of Brač, and included Pražnice and Gornji Humac. Town symbol is stone, the white Brač stone evidenced by numerous, some of them today closed, quarries. Stone-mason's school in Pučišća is the only of that type in Croatia and continues the stone-mason's tradition of all villages on the island of Hvar. Besides stone, Pučišća are also famous for its old olive-groves, quality olive oil and excellent wine from Pučišće vineyards. The future of the village is undoubtly tourism – mild climate, clear sea, Brač gastronomic specialities – lamb and home-made wine and interesting stone-mason's workshop are only a part of Pučišća tourist offer.
